Default 15-pin dsub adapters?

I'm trying to order a custom computer, but haven't got the cash together for a new monitor yet. I don't want to have to buy an AGP motherboard to fit my old graphics card, but my current monitor is 16-pin (I belive I'm right in saying that all, or almost all, PCIe cards use 15-pin dsub outputs).
So I need to be able to plug my old monitor into a new PCIe card until I have the money for the new monitor. Is there an adapter to connect a 16-pin monitor to a 15-pin video-out, or are the two connection types just too different?
