Are the proper modem drivers installed, are the cables working, and have you cleaned the registry?

Yes, my computer is otherwise fine, besides AOL using processor resourses, but it's AOL that's expected. And, no I haven't cleaned my registry yet, what would be a good program (free) that I don't have to scan 300 times just to get rid off all the problems? Any suggestions?

Other than repairing Windows, there isn't much you can do.
