Hi there, in the last 3 months or so I have had the same virus (a fake win 7 antimalware thing) about 4 times( I now have rKill on my desktop permanantly, lol). Each time I manage to kill it with malwarebytes, and do scans with superanispyware, etc. to clean it up. I am starting to think I have managed to get a rootkit at some point that keeps installing it. I am posting a HJT log because I dont know much about rootkits and how to find/remove them. I am hoping the log might show something :s
I ran the sophos rootkit finder which found 2 items in users/temp that is said it didnt reccomend getting rid of (I did anyway - i figured nothing too important would be in that folder) and a week later I got the same virus again! I just ran the GMER rootkit finder that found nothing too.
If the log doesnt show anything, could you please point me in the right direction or something?
