MAJOR troubles with an odd about:blank hijack

Hi, I am trying to fix my parent's computer because it got a VERY nasty about:blank hijack. Every time I try to load up the internet, I get about:blank, but it is a webpage that throws a few popups my way telling me that I am infected by spyware. I ran Ad-Aware, Norton Antivirus, Spybot S&D, HiJackThis, and CW shredder, and none of this seems to work. This wouldn't be too bad if I was even able to ACCESS the windowsupdate.microsoft.com site. Everytime I try to go there, this stupid malware redirects me to the about:blank page. No prompts, nothing, just the windows update site loads then instantly switches over to the about:blank site with popups and a few other things. Here is my HiJackThis log. If someone can please give me a hand with this, it would be great. There is also a screenshot here so that you can see what is popping up.

Try do download the Microsoft Antispyware that is listed in my signature and run it

Then download these files:

CoolWWWSearch.SmartKiller removal tool and download and unzip the tool to a folder directly on your c: drive. Make sure you have all these instructions written down cause you will be offline doing this!

Also download About Buster 4.0 into the same folder as Smart Killer and unzip it.

Then reboot into Safe Mode

Run About Buster.

Then run Smart Killer.

Then run Microsoft's Antispyware again.

Then navigate to the C:\Windows\Temp folder. Open the Temp folder and go to Edit > Select All then Edit > Delete to delete the entire contents of the Temp folder.

Go to Start > Run and type %temp% in the Run box. The Temp folder will open. Click Edit > Select All then Edit > Delete to delete the entire contents of the Temp folder.

Finally go to Control Panel > Internet Options. On the General tab under "Temporary Internet Files" Click "Delete Files". Put a check by "Delete Offline Content" and click OK. Click on the Programs tab then click the "Reset Web Settings" button. Click Apply then OK.

Reboot

Empty the Recycle Bin

Then post another log. Liz
 
Ok, I did all of that, and now when I go to open Microsoft Internet Explorer, I double click on it and it will not open. Here is the new HJT log.

Then Download CW Shredder:

Open and hit the ->fix tab to fix all found problems


Now do a full adaware scan as per:

You need to be logged on as Adminstrator through the installation.

Just download it to your desktop and then to install click on the file you just downloaded (aawsepersonal.exe). You will be guided through the installation. It is recommended to use the default setting of "Protect anyone who uses this computer".

On the main screen of Adaware please look for the *check for updates now* link, just above the start button in the bottom right corner or you can click on the Webupdate button that looks like a globe icon at the top. Press * connect* to let it check for any recent updates. If any are found, please let it download and install them.

Now, configure your settings. Click the gear icon at the top. These are the recommended settings:

AAW SE settings

General Button
Safety:
Check (Green) all three.

Advanced Button
Logfile Detail Level:
All options under this should be checked (Green).

Tweak Button
Check (Green) the following:
Log Files
Include basic Ad-Aware settings in logfile:
Include additional Ad-Aware settings in logfile:
Please do not check (Green): Include Module list in logfile:

On your first scan, use the Full Scan (Perform full system scan) mode.

Let Adaware remove any *bad* objects found. Reboot your PC and scan again. Repeat this process until no more bad items are found. It may take several scans to clean everything, depending on the type of infections found.
