Just finished using MBAM to get rid of some malware/adware, also my avast found a rootkit, i deleted it once, but then upon reboot it asked me again to delete it. Its called something like "tssserv.sys"
Anyways just wondering if there were any remains of the adwar/malware. Also is tfnslopk.dll a system file or adware? it kept asking to start on startup but i kept denying it.

hello? i'm getting terrible startup lag, i'm still getting this popup asking me to download an anti virus, my audio drivers are gone...so are my ethernet drivers, although my internet still works.

Remove those entries. Then run ComboFix.

Download ComboFix from Here or Here to your Desktop.
Read first: "How to download and use ComboFix"
If you downloaded ComboFix previously, delete that version and download it again as the tool is frequently updated!
  • Very Important! Temporarily disable your anti-virus, script blocking and any anti-malware real-time protection before performing a scan. They can interfere with ComboFix or remove some of its embedded files which may cause "unpredictable results".
    Click on this link to see a list of programs that should be disabled. The list is not all inclusive. If yours is not listed and you don't know how to disable it, please ask.
  • Double click combofix.exe and follow the prompts.
  • When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Post that log and a HiJackthis log in your next reply
  • Be sure to re-enable your anti-virus and other security programs, after ComboFix finished.
Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while its running. That may cause it to stall.

Eh, sorry mak =/ i was a little irritated by my computer today plus the fact i didn't get much sleep in the past 2 days. Forgive me :D

Alright with regards to the the hijackthis report, opendns is perfectly safe, its just an open dns server so i'm using their dns servers instead of telus ones.

And i cant exactly use combo fix either lol, i tried using the windows repair utility to replace all the files and what not but now when i try and boot windows i'm stuck at the blue passing bars, the bars go over twice about then the computer restarts.

So ubuntu for now, maybe i'll reformat, i got everything backed up on an external hard drive.

But maybe wait 2-3 days before closing this, i might get back ma windows :p

The reason why i put OpenDNS cause it comes up everywhere as a Trojan. Must be a false positive.

Can you get into Safe Mode?
