hello again
i wasnt criticising anything or anybody at my last post I already appreciate what you guys are doing:) .I read the tutorial you guys posted.I figured that i had an infection because everytime i click on a link while already on a site lets say yahoo.com, internet explorer would not responde at all afterwards. And also counter strike was going very slow:eek:  .
As for my purpose here there is a file that hijackthis could not delete.i didn't see which one it was cause i couldnt copy the error message.

You have the newdot.net infection

So are you not able to go thru my guide?

If you cant click on links with the infected pc, can you download the program onto another pc and tranfer them to the infected one? You need to somehow go thru the guide

Try this atleast

It is recommended that you use this to remove the program, as explained in more detail in the New.Net FAQ. DO NOT simply delete the DLL, as it tampers with the default Winsock settings and manual removal will cause you to lose Internet access.

The Add/Remove dialogue is available by clicking Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs.

To remove the plug-in, select new.net from the list and click Add/Remove. Rebooting the computer will complete the removal.

NewDotNet manual removal:
Has uninstaller included

nnezt[XVS].exe

Delete registry values:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\new.net startup
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\New.net
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Tldctl2.URLLink
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Tldctl2.URLLink.1

I don't have new.net in my add/remove list so if i understand what you are saying i only have to remove manually the registry keys and files you wrote above.tell me if i m correct to be sure not to screw up....could you tell me where to find those registry keys and files?
Sorry for keeping you busy.

well i m not a programmer or anything i don t really know where to find these directories.the only thing i know is that the new.net is not listed in the add/remove and that the C:/newnet stuff doesn't exist either.
