Hello,
A while ago my yahoo email was hacked, someone logged in from a mobile then sent spam on two consecutive days the same time span to the minute from 12:17pm to 12:40pm, to every address that I had ever sent email to or received email from, not just contacts. I have run half a dozen anti-virus and spyware scans finding nothing, I never reveal passwords and the questions for passwords are custom, could it have been a key logger used to attain my password? Please analyze my hijack this log, thank you, your help is appreciated greatly.

There is nothing in the log that suggest a keylogger. In fact the log is very nice. the only entry that shows anything is this:

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {02478D38-C3F9-4efb-9B51-7695ECA05670} - (no file)

Which oddly enough is linked to the Yahoo Companion. So remove that and anything else that could be installed from Yahoo, reset your password and you should be good to go.

Hello,
Thank you for your reply, I just have a couple of questions,

"O2 - BHO: (no name) - {02478D38-C3F9-4efb-9B51-7695ECA05670}"is it any other kind of malware? Am I just to remove any "yahoo" to be safe?

and do you have any idea how my email could have been hacked if it weren't a keylogger?

Thank you again, being hacked is a stressful problem so I really do appreciate your help

You really need to read this thread:

http://www.techist.com/forums/f51/important-information-needs-known-238616/

There is no way by reading a HiJack This log for me to know what it is that is infecting your machine. It could quite simply be that you got an infected email that sent out mass emails to everyone in your inbox as well as your contacts. It happens to the best of us at times. I have gotten phone calls warning me that my email address had spammed family only to find out that I got spammed from an infected email and it passed from me. So for me to read these entries and be able to know exactly what it is, is impossible. I am sorry but HiJack This is not that in depth for me to know such information.

You could remove anything Yahoo, but such things like Yahoo companion are usually part of the toolbar, which is known crapware. Any and all toolbars are just breeding grounds for infections now a days.

Who says it was hacked? Just cause your email address sent spam doesn't automatically make it hacked, nor does it mean it was from a mobile. It simply implies that you got an infected message, possibly from someone that you know, that got it from someone else and so on. You opened the message thinking it was from them and that is all it took for the infection to use your address to continue the cycle.

The best course of action is when you get an email from a friend or family, especially one with an oddly worded subject line, create a new message and ask the sender if they had sent it. If they did, then it is safe to open. If they didn't send you anything recently, then you know that they were a victim of such a spam themselves with an infected message and that is how you got it. The course of action is to delete it right away and DO NOT OPEN IT.
