I did everything but
click on config /misc tools/open host file manager /

scroll down in that window and look for 127.0.0.1 localhost
That is legit and any others at this point are to be removed so highlight each and click "Delete line"

I checked the host file and I didn't see a listing for "127.0.0.1 localhost". Here's a copy of the host file.

Also I didn't delete the "spyware" folder from program files. That's just a directory I created to install all the scanning programs I've tried the last few days. Nothing wrong with that one.

So after I got finished with all that and rebooted, the machine was unused for about 15 or 20 minutes. When the user got back there were a load of popups on the page again. Seems to have gotten rid of some things, but opened the door for others.

Also, I noticed when I deleted all the entries in HT (I got an explorer error right after that, but it corrected itself on a reboot) and rebooted, McAfee found a trogan. Did that 2 times until I went in and deleted the file in the windows/system folder.

Too, after looking through that HT log, I see that alot of the lines I deleted are right back on there.
