I fixed the problem, the piece of ram we installed is killing the pc because the power supply is faulty.

There are still some issues like AVG not showing in MSCONFIG (At all) and Windows firewall not being accessible since the service has stopped?

Maybe some left behind's from some viruses?

Did you happen to remove those entries from the msconfig utility? If so, you will need to reinstall it, if not, reinstall it anyways

No they somehow disappeared... :/

On friday he is laning at mine so i will get him to reinstall avg

What about the firewall service being disabled. I checked it and it said it was on 'Automatic'

Can't open firewall, get the error message that its disabled (maybe run spybot because it can pickup security changes?)
