ok... iv had firedeamon comming up on startup saying that it is not working... i then found out that it can help viruses, and since i didnt install it, something else did... i disabled it (i think) but would like to get rid of it totally if poss.....

also, i found a folder with 15gig of .zip files under c:\Uploads that i did not put there myself... so if someone could point me in the right direction to stop that filling up again (i deleted the contents) then that would be great!

restart info safe mode (click F8 til a menu will be shown and select "safe mode") its essential as some spywares are persistent and cant be removed in standard mode, run hijackthis and do a scan and tick these items and click "fix checked" and "yes"

when done get into c:\windows\temp and erase all files/folders in it dont worry its safe (it only contains 2 spywares and various temporary files) , then get into c:\program files find and delete the "Starware" folder and restart and make a new hijackthis log and copy and paste

START > RUN - type msconfig press ENTER.
*Click the tab "STARTUP"
*Check if it is located in that list svchost1.exe
*If it is, uncheck it click "apply" then "ok"
*You may be prompted to restart, if so, click yes.

In normal startup, I strongly recommend that you run a scan with trend micro's free online Anti-Virus scanner. here follow the prompts at this site : http://www.trendmicro.com/hc_intro/default.asp
*Click on the scan now - it's free link .

yes it does that should have been clear (after all it is running from c:\windows\temp and also i mentioned this: "(it only contains 2 spywares and various temporary files)")

i alredy gave instructions on how to handle it , if youll look at the log youll notice svchost1 doesnt appear on the registry startup so he wont see it in msconfig , the anti-spyware program hes using (spyware doctor) probably had that entry removed but just couldnt remove the file

anyway dont take this the wrong way , i know your tryin to help but it was really unnessary as i alredy wrote good instructions that included gettin rid of that svchost1 file
