My pastor asked me about a possible virus he might have. Whenever he trys to run a program with a .exe extension, the program extension changes to .lnk. The program then opens and changes any file that is opened to a file with a .lnk extension. After the program is closed any attemp to re-open it causes a message that the program cannot be open.
Spyware/adware/anti-virus programs don't detect anthing.
Has anyone seen this issue before. I saw a previous post with what sounded like the same issue, but it was closed before a solution was noted.
Any advice would be helpful and greatly appreciated.
