Hello, new here, and in desperate need of some help.
A week ago I decided I wanted to switch from Avast! back to AVG free, and have been having problems ever since. I deleted/uninstalled all of the antivirus files I can find, yet I can't reinstall ANY programs.

Kind of going crazy, so I tried to download Avira and got this message:
I'm using a secure wireless connection. My system date is correct, and obviously I can access the internet. I have no idea why I can't install antivirus. I've been able to install other programs....I can't figure out what the problem is.
Oh, and a friend of mine had me run HijackThis recently, here's the log from just now.

This is error message from AVG:
I looked up solutions to this AVG problem but none worked. I couldn't find a good, free registry cleaner, though I deleted the AVG folder from my Program Files. I tried using AVG Remover and it warns me of a computer restart in order to continue, restarts, and then does nothing at all.Local machine: installation failed

- Ensure that the internet can be accessed
- Ensure that the system date is correct
- If in use, check your modem connection
- Ensure that the application fact.exe can access the internet and is not blocked by a firewall
