Hi, im new to this website and im in need of help, i have been having many problems with this computer for a while now and it has got too far out of hand, i am stupid to leave this long but this isnt my computer and is used by the family so i am not sure whats happens all the time, i have also recently had 2 virus' called win32.P2P-Worm.Alcan.a and Trojan.Crypt.E, i have a desent knowlenge of computers except for when it comes to code to which im clueless, anyway here is my HijackThis log,

I dont even need to look at this to realise something is wrong, could you please help me clean this as i desperately need the help, i am willing to take any i can get, thanks.
 
been and done it, deleted about 6 and thats it and i know i have more, i also ran some recent virus scans such as ad-aware, spybot- search and destroy, spyware doctor and blueyonder pc guard which is an english program.
 
ok well i ran the housecall again and my other anti-virus programs, this is my log now, hopefully it is a bit better, also how do i get rid of those hosts as i know they are not meant to be there from the looks of everyone elses log, thanks.

You have lots of nasties (viruses,spyware,etc) on your computer.

Go to HiJackThis.com and paste your log, and let it analyze it. Then, remove all entries that have a red "exclamation mark" next to them.
 
ok well i followed the steps and this what i got, everything that is on the startup is on excapt for a couple of programs such as msn, spyware doctor etc. heres the log;

also i managed to get rid of the worm problem i had earlier as i am able to access my task manager and limewire does not re appear, also ad-aware no longer detects it which i am glad for.
 
Still have quite a few issues to deal with (was expected)


Before attacking an adware/spyware problem with hijackthis make sure you have already run the following tools. Download and update the databases on each program before running.

Also make sure you are using the the latest version (1.99.1) of HijackThis and it's installed in it's own folder on the root drive. (C:\HJT)

Go to My Computer->Tools->Folder Options->View tab and make sure that Show hidden files and folders is enabled. Also make sure that the System Files and Folders are showing/visible.
Please make sure system restore is enabled by right clicking on My Computer and go to Properties->System Restore and check the box for Turn OFF System Restore and make sure itÂ’s NOT checked. We want system restore ON and monitoring your current hard drive.

Once your clean we will turn this off and then back on to remove the infection from the restore folder and create a clean restore point.

Download and install Cleanup but DO NOT run it yet!

*WARNING* Cleanup deletes EVERYTHING out of temp/temporary folders and does not make backups.


1. Please download Ewido Anti-Malware
  • Install ewido anti-malware
  • Launch ewido, there should be an icon on your desktop, double-click it.
  • The program will now open to the main screen.
  • When you run ewido for the first time, you may get a warning "Database could not be found!". Click OK. We will fix this in a moment.

    You will need to update ewido to the latest definition files.
    • On the left hand side of the main screen click update.
    • Then click on Start Update.
  • The update will start and a progress bar will show the updates being installed.
    (the status bar at the bottom will display ("Update successful")
  • Exit Ewido, do not run the scan yet!
If you are having problems with the updater, you can use this link to manually update ewido.

2. Please download Brute Force Uninstaller to your desktop.
  • Right click the BFU folder on your desktop, and choose Extract All
  • Click "Next"
  • In the box to choose where to extract the files to,
  • Click "Browse"
  • Click on the + sign next to "My Computer"
  • Click on "Local Disk (C:) or whatever your primary drive is
  • Click "Make New Folder"
  • Type in BFU
  • Click "Next", and Uncheck the "Show Extracted Files" box and then click "Finish".
3. RIGHT-CLICK HERE and choose "Save As" (in IE it's "Save Target As") in order to download Alcra PLUS Remover.
Save it in the same folder you made earlier (c:\BFU).

Do not do anything with these yet!

Open Cleanup! by double-clicking the icon on your desktop (or from the Start > All Programs menu). Set the program up as follows:
*Click "Options..."
*Move the arrow down to "Custom CleanUp!"
*Put a check next to the following:
  • Empty Recycle Bins
  • Delete Cookies
  • Delete Prefetch files
  • Cleanup! All Users
  • Click on the “Temporary Files” and uncheck the box for “Scan drives for file matching” if itÂ’s checked.
Click OK
Press the CleanUp! button to start the program. Reboot/logoff when prompted.


Reboot your computer into Safe Mode. You can do this by restarting your computer and continually tapping F8 until a menu appears. Highlight Safe Mode and hit enter.

4. Once in Safe Mode, Open Ewido:
  • Click on scanner
  • Click on Complete System Scan and the scan will begin.
  • You will be prompted to clean the first infection.
  • Select "Perform action on all infections", then proceed.
  • Once the scan has completed, there will be a button located on the bottom of the screen named Save report
  • Click Save report.
  • Save the report .txt file to your desktop or a location where you can find it easily.
Close ewido anti-malware.

5. Then, please go to Start > My Computer and navigate to the C:\BFU folder.
  • Start the Brute Force Uninstaller by doubleclicking BFU.exe
  • Behind the scriptline to execute field click the folder icon
    foldericon.png
    and select alcanshorty.bfu
  • Press Execute and let the program do itÂ’s job. (You ought to see a progress bar if you did this correctly.)
  • Wait for the complete script execution box to pop up and press OK.
  • Press exit to terminate the BFU program.

Reboot back to normal windows....

Perform an online scan with Internet Explorer with Panda ActiveScan
** click on "Free use ActiveScan" located on the top right hand corner
  1. Click Check Now & a 'pop up' window shall appear. *ensure that your pop up blocker doesn't block it
  2. Enter your e-mail address, country, and state & click Scan Now ...begins downloading 8 MB Panda's ActiveX controls
Begin the scan by selecting My Computer
  • If it finds any malware, it will offer you a report.
    [*] Please ignore any entry it finds and wants you to buy the program for removal as we will address this later.
    [*] Click on see report. Then click Save report

Please post that log in your next reply along with the Ewido log and a new hijackthis log.
