This is my daughters computer again. To make a long story short, her AVG expired and wasn't updated, she plays facebook games all the time and her computer got infected. I've purchased AVG 2011, put it on and got several trojans and hi-jackers. Ran Malwarebytes and found several items. Deleted all, got on the internet, but still have problems with hijacks and not opening pages. One trojan that keeps getting blocked is "Trojanhorse PSW. online games.3 BMSL. Downloaded Hijackthis on my lap top got it on her computer and below is the results.

Thanks for any help.

check c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts <!~~~ is hidden
open with notepad.

remove the entries for
184.95.59.211 Google
Hosts: 184.95.59.212 search.yahoo.com
Hosts: 184.95.59.212 Bing

and probably any others as well. note that if you have spybot installed there will be a ton of entries.

if you are still getting redirects check and see if you can navigate to http://update.microsoft.com

if that doesn't resolve, ie "Page Cannot be Displayed" you probably have a MBR rootkit. at that point a fixmbr from the recovery console is the fix. after that run malwarebytes again to catch anything exposed by removing the rootkit.

Please move to the finished file. I screwed up and thought I was repairing windows, instead I deleted and replaced with new. Thought that it would just replace the OS instead of deleting all files. Trying to recover some pics, then I'm going to reformat and put the OS back on.

Thanks

odie
