I think the Nokia Asha 303 would be a better option for you, The internet is the best internet on phone ever because the intelligent software inside the phone downloads multiple pages per second in mini size for you to access any webpage that you want and you can also do multi-tasking. Asha 303 also comes with whatsapp messenger that is totally free and you can chat or exchange very heavy files across with any of your friends in your contact list. further you also keep staying online and the data cost is totally free as Nokia has signed an agreement with Vodafone India to provide speed and attractive data plans to its users.
The battery back is for 720 hours means one month and the music is also very good. Nokia Asha 303 is a touch and type phone and also with a big and wide HD screen.
Further there are news reports saying that Nokia would be supplying real tie traffic updates to its customers in India, which is altogether a very new concept, no other mobile makers have yet made any real time traffic updates ever. you can check this on the internet or even visit the Nokia India website to check the following features and status.

Nokia Asha? Seriously? Going back to a non-hidden physical keyboard and a smaller screen, plus it's a windows phone, Exo said he's going iOS or Android.

Since the mobile prices are rising day to day and also the network services price is also increasing with call cost and data plans, so would suggest you to have something more better that is cost effective, cost effective her is not having a low range mobile but having a mobile that fulfills your desires and also that would take for atleast 2 more years to upgrade your mobile. Nokia Asha 303 is te best handset today that comes with GHz processor, 32 GB ram, HD screen wide and large, touch and type phone, dual speakers, 5 mp camera, colorful body selection, inbuilt apps, multi tasking, gaming, 4 way screen tilt, multiple mail config, unlimited social networking inbuilt app and most importantly the battery that takes you one month to charge it for the next time. Just check all these features in Nokia's official website and read the reviews anywhere. price is so negligible you wont believe even, watch it now.

@rahul, The Nokia Asha is trash compared to the other phones we are talking about here:

The Nokia Asha can't multitask properly
It doesn't have productivity apps like Evernote, Springpad, Astrid, OfficeSuite, etc.
It can't sync to my Google Calendar and contacts seemlessly if it can at all
It has no ability to be connected on the go to receive twitter mentions, facebook chat messages, etc just like how you receive SMS
It has no capability for a traffic density overlay on a Map program.
For the social network addicts, there's no instagram, lightbox, tumblr or blogger apps
It doesn't have ebook readers for pdf, epub, rtf etc.

I could go on and on, but the thing is, people nowadays buy phones for what they can do with them, not for those features you mention.

And one month battery? You believe that? Those battery specs aren't true for real life situations.

In other words, the Nokia Asha is a basic phone, the iPhones and Android phones are mobile computers. Its like someone is asking what computer to buy and you're telling him to buy a calculator.

@morpheus - the Asha is worse than a Windows Phone, its an s40 feature phone (read: dumbphone), not a smartphone. It only runs java apps or specifically designed Nokia apps.

Let me say this again. The poster is not from India. So trying to promote the Nokia Asha is worthless. It doesnt apply. Do it again, you will be banned for advertising and spamming the forums with useless information. The poster is from the USA, a place that has phones that are much more powerful and better than that. Final warning.

Actually, India also has phones like the Galaxy S, the SII, iPhones, Xperias, they also have the One X there. But these aren't very popular there. AFAIK, India is like my own country (Philippines), where people buy full price their phones, the get a SIM only contract. So while in the US you can get an SII for like $200, in India you need to pay the full $600 or so.

That is not the point. Plain and simple the only posts the person has made is to promote a device that is not available and does not apply to the question asked.

Plus we can also buy the devices for full prices off contract just like anyone else. The $200 you quote, is only when you sign a new contract or get it on upgrade and renew the 2 year agreement. We can still purchase any device for full cost if we do not wish to renew our contract.

It is for that reason that I asked in the very beginning what provider. None of the information provided is of use if the poster who asked the questions doesnt respond. Cause a device made for the CDMA network will not work with the GSM network and vice versa.

So until Exo decides to come back to this topic and let us know, I shall lock it. He can report the post and ask for it to be re-opened so he can update it with information that can be used.
