Hello.

I bought my Prestigio MultiPad 7.0 Prime Duo (PMP5770D) with 4.0.4 Android version, but 4.1 files for upgrade in manufacturer's website is ready to download. If I upgrade my device, it would "eat" more resources and etc. ?

Thanks for answer.

Yes. Just like upgrading to a newer version of Windows will eat more resources, so does newer versions of Android. They have new features that require more resources.

Jellybean is much more optimized and efficient than ICS.

Yes, it is. @OP you shouldn't have to worry because your tablet shipped with 4.0.4 which means it should be perfectly capable of running 4.2, which really just adds new features and optimizations. It's not as huge of a leap as let's say, Gingerbread to ICS.

However, if anyone reading this has a rooted device that came with Gingerbread, Honeycomb, or Froyo and would like to upgrade to ICS or Jb via ROMs, your phone/tablet will probably be slower because of its older hardware. I had that experience with my Nook Color and sadly Jellybean and ICS run horribly on it.

EDIT: Misread something, fixed it.
