SMS encryption

I have asked around in another forum without success so far, but I am trying to figure out a quick and easy way to encrypt text messages between me and my family and close friends.

As you probably know your employer/parents or whoever administers your phone service can look at your text messages, and these messages are saved for months.

Any ideas on how to encrypt/decrypt fairly easily?
