Send/Receive SMS with GSM Modems as memo

Is it possible to program a GSM Modem to save all the messages it received as a memo or reminder note? Example, I am going to have an event next week and then I will text a message to the GSM Modem through my phone about the event. And then when the modem received it, it will saved the message to the PC as a note and when the event is about to come, the Modem will send a message on my phone to remind me about the event.
Anyone help me PLEASSSSSSSSE?

I have not heard of such a thing. What phone is it? Is it an Android smart Phone? Couldnt you just create an even on your calendar and set that to remind you? Would get the same job done.
