Currently shopping around for a semi-cheap phone, but this proves more difficult than it used to be. Basically I need something that meets the following criteria.

1: Semi-cheap, I don't need a Galaxy S8, but I don't want a $50 cooker
2: Not be a royal PITA to use, I have fairly large hands and fingers
3: Be GSM/AT&T/StraightTalk compatible...
4: SD Card support is a must

I used to use a Galaxy Mega that I bought direct from AT&T to use with StraightTalk, loved that phone, worked great, simple, good signal. I would like to go back to StraightTalk, however I must buy a phone elsewhere as all they offer are CDMA phones, and there is virtually no CDMA coverage here unless you are in the city. Would be useless should I get stranded somewhere between cities, so I am stuck with a GSM phone that I can use with StraightTalk.

I am starting a new job at Amazon soon, and will have an employee discount, so I would highly prefer to purchase something sold or fulfilled by Amazon, and have been considering the Samsung Galaxy J7 https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Gala...UTF8&qid=1513201510&sr=1-3&keywords=Galaxy+J7

Yay? Nay? Anything better out there in terms of quality/cost? Really don't want to go over $300 for a phone.

Not Amazon but I can vouch for this one. I bought one for my sister-in-law last month. 6" 1080 screen, 2GB/32GB w/SD slot, 4080mAh, 16MP+2MP cameras, rear fingerprint sensor. It is running a Snapdragon 435 but was pretty snappy for me while setting it up.

It will have to be network unlocked using the unlock app on the phone. Go with this service:

Fully compatible with AT&T/Cricket/ST using an AT&T SIM. Damn nice phone, especially for the price.

I also still recommend the ZTE Axon 7. Mine is sitting right beside me.

Hate to ask you this Trotter... But how well does the ZTE Axon 7 handle games like Hill Climb Racing 2 and the such? Don't really play anything fancy, but, well, doesn't hurt to ask if you play games. Surely better than the Tab4 tablet that i've been playing on :)

Kinda seriously considering the Axon 7... lol

The A7 had a SD820, 4GB of RAM, and Adreno 530. I don't play games on mine but it should handle damn near anything you throw at it. It is comparable to the LG G5 and the Samsung Galaxy 7. There are loads of reviews on Youtube, just keep in mind that the software has been updated and matured since the initial release. If you have questions just holler.
