My wife has an older iPhone.. 4s I believe. She wants to trade the phone in to upgrade to a newer phone. There were pics and documents that have been deleted through the phone by typical means. I've read that nothing is actually ever truly deleted. Is there a way to clear the phone so that pics and stuff cannot be retrieved by the new owner of the phone when we get rid of it?? Thanks in advance for the help!

Factory reset it through iTunes so it's completely wiped and reflashed.
Or, you can put it in the blender for a few minutes.

A blender might be the best way. Just hoped there was a good way to be sure it was actually empty while leaving it operational :p

It completely reflashes the phone and auto updates if you don't have the latest iOS. If you're selling the phone this is the best way and don't forget to remove it from your account.
