I wonder if anybody has the answer to my big problem.
I have had 2 Nokia 6680 phones of which i tryed to link through usb to my pc, both did not work or the pc would not reconise the phones,i have tryed all thats been advised by nokia etc including latest software, disabled anti virus you name it!! i have tryed it,!!!Now i was blaming the phones!! so i got a new sony ericsson w800i,and when i installed there software i got the same problem all the software goes in but errors for trying to browse into the phone ie,it says no phone connected even though it is,,,Well this has drove me mad !!??and i have come to a conclusion that because i have tryed 2 completley different phone models with 2 completly different software installs, its seems it must be my xp pro.
I have installed and check all updates all are up to date the only yellow ! marker i get in device manager is broadcom ethernet?
Of which in the end i diabled in bios,it was irq5.
I have ran out of options,i will also include my computer info ..please help if you have a sure idea what or is causing this problem,if you do you shall be in my eyes a God..

first off, ...WOW, you gotta alot of shtuff!!!

Well, ...u said you tried everything, but have you looked into your FIEWALL settings. I mean, you say the devices are recognizing right?...but do you have the correct router settings.

Have you tried opening the correct PORTS on your network.
The PORT will be your network gateway to enable it.
There are I think about 56000 or so ports available.
Each PORT is designed for a specific type of service/protocol.

It gets pretty tricky.
check this link out:

I dunno, let me know if that helpz at least.

thanks all but i sorted it,it was to do with the ethernet, why i dont know? got me ? cant see how that would have affected it but it did..cheers to everyone.
