Apple are a little cocky at times, especially when it comes to security the whole "We can't get exploited or get a virus" was a red rag to a bull to the security community. For instance YouTube - pauldotcom.com mac spoof when apple where saying oh no exploit exists in the wild for our wireless drivers they where wrong and paul, larry and twitchy knew this and filmed that vid. Apple only partly patched that vulnerability I know for a fact that it's still exploitable I am sitting next to a imac now and I know that it's vulnerable as is the macbook 5 doors down as is the macpro with the airport that my mate owns.

Looks like they fixed it:

Hijacking an iPhone using a special kind of text message should no longer be possible once users apply a patch issued by Apple Friday, the company says.

"This morning, less than 24 hours after a demonstration of this exploit, we've issued a free software update that eliminates the vulnerability from the iPhone," Apple said in a statement Friday afternoon.
