first charge for iphone

how long should i let the iphone charge for, for the first time, what i did was fully disharge it when got it from new and now i dont know how long to charge it up for?

Until it's full? If you use a wall charger, it won't overcharge.

Far as i know for the last 10 or so years, NiMH invention, chargers drop down to maintain the charge when it senses the batteries are full.

Nope, it's all phone chargers that run off AC. Alternating current makes it so you won't overcharge, but DC (like car chargers) keep pushing power as if it's trying to charge. Hence, using car chargers constantly and for more than an hour at a time kills batteries in the long run.

That being said, AC or not, based on the nature of said cell phone batteries, it's still best to let them wear down before you charge them, since they have a set number of charges.

Or like me charge the phone for 8 hours a night even when you were on 60percent battery anyway I am aware it screws the battery up over time but if it is really that bad you can get a new one for about £60 to £70 which isn't too bad if you have to do it once a year or two.
