Cell phone stupiditiy ... or what ... ?

I'm just wondering, does anyone see any logic to this?

After how many years of the phones being around - contacts are still limited to internal memory and 3-500 contacts (for the most part).

But then these contacts don't have fields for many common things - addresses, for example.

You can buy a full PDA phone and get these features, but why have the fancy MP3/camera phones avoided such an easy fix/feature that would make them desired by more then a few people.

Probberly because they are down as "Multimedia Phones" and they have used up all the possiable memory on what they think people will like best.

But, but! I do like the idea of having everything in one package - my phone, contacts, calendar/to-do, and media player...but I really don't want the integrated keyboard like the PDAs come with, nor the $25+ "data plans" that you have to get with them...

There is such a phone that is suppose to be coming out in 2008 but i forgot the link i will post it if i find it.

It is also suppose to use linux

Maybe, but it also is a considerable lack of intellect among the industry - I mean, think of the complexity of adding a field or two of text... yeah, that'd be difficult. :snob:
