Cell phone service?

A family friend brought it to my attention that there is a device that can attract cellular service to places like my home with none. He didn't know much about it, but does anyone have any info on this? it would be much appreciated.

do you mean something like a microcell? att has one and it basically acts as a personal cell tower that you put in your house, and you can use the 3g service through that

Yha, i've seen other device, that are basically bi directional antennas that then wire up to a omi directional device, for spreading out around the house.
