I never really payed much attention to Bluetooth, as so far I've had horrid experiences with it and have deemed it crap.
Nevertheless it has come up again in my life and I need a bit of data I can't really seem to find anywhere else.
Are Bluetooth profiles hardware or software based? As in, can a firmware update add in support for a profile a device didn't support before, such as A2DP, or does the bluetooth adapter have to be specifically designed to work with that profile.
