Wireless Keyboard

This may not be the newest technology, but I am looking for information about using a wireless keyboard.

I have an antique rolltop desk that I want to use for my computer. I do not want to cut holes for wires, so I want to use a wireless keyboard and mouse. What I want to find out is - will the receiver work if it is set on top of the desk, approx 15" higher than the desktop where the keyboard and mouse will be?

yeh course it will... but depending on what wireless keyboard your buying invest in Logitech or Microsoft they are best in wireless i think.. especially my Microsoft Wireless optical mouse 1000 try and get something that is like a 800dpi high resolution then your fine and Operating distance in excess of 1.5m in a normal environment.
