Ubuntu is a desktop OS. Android is a phone OS. They have different functions.

Ahhh ok thanks I didn't think about that. I was just thinking as far as being kind of open-sourceish.

It seems like an impressive prospect would definitely be androids rival but i think it would hit the enterprise market better which the current leaders are blackberry and apple, id definitely consider getting an ubuntu smartphone, theyd probably use ROMs for most cos atm everyones using android, iOS etc so they'll orobably release a ROM for most users who want to migrate to ubuntu. I do however look forward to the tablet version thats rumoured and wish to hear more about its development

I've run Ubuntu and such on my phone in a dual boot. It.....has its uses lol.
