Flash memory got so fast that the interfaces such as USB 2.0 and SATA 2.0 started to become the bottleneck. Luckily SATA 3.0 is available via third party chips and many Asus and Gigabyte motherboards already support it. USB 3.0 is also showing up on quite a few motherboards.

OCZ's brushed metal SSD should come with some impressive speeds as it can read at 215MB/s and write at 175MB/s. The drive is still in the works so these speeds are preliminary. Once it hits the market it will be available in 64 GB, 128 GB and even 256GB capacities, but the latter won't come cheap.

We learned that once it ships the 64GB version should be available for around €150, which is more than a decent price for such a speed on an external storage drive.

I have that exact same mouse pad!

That will be awesome though. My mom is copying some music from an external hard drive and it takes forever. When this becomes the standard things are going to be a lot nicer.
