I have read many of the stories on the new AMD processors. One thing however is still confusing to me, should I wait to upgrade my mobo, or will the standard socket still be AM2?

I know that some of the FXs will be socket 1207+, but what about everything else, and any clue on how long AM2 will stay standard?

From what I've heard the new socket has the same amount of pins as AM2 and is backward compatible.

Meaning the new chips will run in AM2 boards but you will lose newer, nifty things that the new socket supports such as Hypertransport 3.0 and DDR3 memory compatibility.
