Beginning on January 18, Intel will launch three new Core 2 Quad processors with a TDP of just 65W. This is compared to a 95W TDP for most other Core 2 Quad processors. At the time of launch, the price premium for the Q8200s, Q9400s, and Q9550s will be $62, $54, and $53 respectively compared to the non "s" models.

Intel is also launching a new Pentium Dual Core processor in November and one more on January 18. The 2.6 GHz Pentium Dual Core E5300 will show up on November 30 priced at $86. The E5300 will be joined by a 2.7 GHz Pentium Dual Core E5400 on January 18 priced at $84. At that time, the E5300 will see a price cut to $74 while the older 2.5 GHz E5200 will fall to $64.

Slightly higher up on the food chain will be a new 2.93 GHz Core 2 Duo E7500 priced at $133

Intel's power efficient 35W processor lineup will also see some changes in at the end of the year. No less than five new processors will be introduced ranging in price from $241 to $530. In addition, the slower 2.4 GHz Core 2 Duo P8600 will fall from $241 to $209 on January 18.

So, Intel will drop the price of E5200 from to $83 to $64

Intel will release higher clocked E5300 for $86 on November 30, then it will drop to $74 on January 18

At January 18, Intel will also release E5400 for $84 and E7500 for $133
In addtion Intel will release three 65w TDP quad cores, Q8200s, Q9400s, and Q9550s at same date

Intel will also release new mobile processors and some of the older mobile CPUs will see some price cuts

Yorkfields are 775 processors right? They are MUCH more capable then just internet/word processing lol.

Yes..

But I don't see why for the Q8200 revision... its not that great of a processor.. and q6600 beats it in pretty much every aspect except the q8200 is 45nm and those few extra perks that come with it.. but its a crap OC'er (Low Multiplier..)

The rest of the processors are pretty sweet though

It's great to know they're still developing the 775 dual cores and quad cores. Times will be great for people that are just looking for an internet/word processing PC.

I think the E5300, E5400 and E7500 are also more capable then just internet/word processing

Umm we're on the same page aren't we?

So, what will be the projected prices for the quads at launch, and what will be the adjusted prices for those already out? If things get cheap enough I might actually be able to build a rig with one... but they will have to get cheap for that to happen.
