Intel cuts electric cords with wireless power system

Just want to remind everyone. Nikolai Tesla invented wireless power 100 years ago, but his work was abandoned because nobody believed him. He was 100 years ahead of his time. Its about time some took him seriously and actually do it.

This is exactly right :| Tesla done it first and now Intel is taking all the glory...kinda funny how no one thought anything of it back then and then up until now when a big company notices it...

bam!

Actually the principles of wireless power are similar to Wireless data transmission. There is actually a measurable amount of energy in all of the different RF standards that we have, but the important thing is keeping the power high enough to get a solid data transmission, so there is fluctuation. In wireless power, where the goal is to transmit energy, not data then the consistency of the power is far more important than before. If you transmit power in a system similar to a radio you could easily fry or under power the target system.

I've heard of Tesla's wireless power but was his wireless power safe? The article did say "The trick with wireless power is not can you do it; it's can you do it safely and efficiently,".

Not sure they cut finding before he actually got the tower running. The point is, its his invention. And it took us 100 years to figure out he was right all along.

ooo goodie! another wireless signal I can intercept and hack into! we're gonna be a world of pwer hackers! lol, but seriously, give Tessla his due Intel! and yeah, they going to have to get devices compatable to the wireless energy, our standard items of today won't work with the energy of tomorrow. oh, and by the way, what powers the transfer station? oh, that's right, the same thing that's powering us right now... Oil

Im gonna go out on a limb and say it will never happen. Too many variables. What if someone pumps lots of juice through a long range signal and blows half of the suburbs appliances up?

I believe it could happen just not anytime soon, **** what do you think people of the past would say about half of the latest technology available to use today? "That's impossible!" haha but seriously when are we gonna learn to get rid of oil and start using dark matter?
