I want to know why it needs two 6-pins? If the performance increase is negligible from a 4850 to a 4860, why does it use two 6-pins?

If its using 2 six pins I'd expect it to be closer to the 4870/gtx260 level, instead of a hair above the 4850. So it seems like they're just using leftover 4890s to save costs instead of making new 4850s.
 
^ Pretty sure it is a 4890 that has some shaders disabled. If you look at the PCB, it has solder pads for one 8 pin and another for a 6 pin connector. Just like the 4890's. The PCB layout looks extremely similar too.
