GTX 280 SLI Power Requirements?

I plan on upgrading to the GTX 280.

I also plan on doing a complete upgrade in a couple of months, and maybe adding another GTX 280. What am I looking at for a PSU?

I was looking at the 1000HX, but I hope you are right and a 750TX can do the job.

I won't stop you from buying the kilowatt HX, however, the 750TX will be more than enough.

It only have one 8 pin connector, so you will need a spilter to create another, as slied GTX280's will require at least two PCIE connectors and at least two 8 pins.

For the 1000hx specs it has this:

PCI-E Connectors | 6 x 6+2Pin

Does this mean that there are 6 PCI-E connectors with an option for 8 pin? Or what???

yes, the HX has enough native connections for slied 280GTXs but the 750TX will still be enough, you will just need a converter.

750TX has four 6+2 pin.

I was looking at incorrect specs..

I had to do a double take also, they have the 650TX and the 750TX side by side on their page.....650TX only has 2.

Ya, i have the 750TX, it has 4 6+2 connectors. I ran quad SLI with it, so i am guessing it will be enough to run SLI 280. Adding a third might be tricky though ><
