GeForce GTX 295 & GTX 285 To Launch @ CES 2009 - VR-Zone.com: News and Reviews

According to vr-zone, Nvidia will also release GTX 285, it will be a replacement for GTX 280. It will be based on 55nm GT200 and has higher default clock speed

That article said that these cards are going to reach EOL as soon as these new ones come out. How can that be? They still make stuff like 9800's and stuff, so why would they no longer make the 260 and 280?

End-of-life (EOL) is a term used with respect to a retailed product, indicating that the product is in the end of its product lifetime and a vendor will no longer be marketing, selling, or promoting a particular product and may also be limiting or ending support for the product.

they did the same thign with the 8800gts when it whent to g92. i think they might of even stoped producign g80 point, there is still even now sooo much stock out there. they did this to the 8800gts g92 with the 9800gtx, i find it stupid and they are screwing over the consumer even more.
