ASUS ARES Single Card Dual 5870 Sneak Peek
ASUS is just about to hit retail shelves with what the HD 5970 should have been. The ASUS ARES video card packs in two 5870 GPUs with 4GB of GDDR5 RAM. We just got the card, but will have a full HardOCP review up soon. Till then, here are some pics to hold you over.
This is the heaviest video card we have ever held due to the extreme cooling solution attached. The card weighs in at just shy of 5lbs. The shroud protecting all that expensive hardware is constructed from aluminum as well, no flimsy plastic here. All protected by 10lbs. of packaging and secret spy briefcase. If the card lives up to the impressive presentation, then we will be very happy with it. I am still waiting for my second ASUS ROG MATRIX 5870 ASUS ROG MATRIX 5870 to show up to replace my personal 5970.
