erm yeah but you will need two GTX 280s to keep up with the 4870x2, and even then it's outperformed much of the time.

if you have seen ste's reviews, the gtx280 does beat the 4870x2 in some games, and susually keeps close in others, so im sure 2 gtx2890 would thrash one 4870x2, also im betting even 3way sli gtx280 is faster then crossfire hd4870.

What's wrong with the 750i?

Not as if you can't use ATI cards in there. But anyway the GTX 280 is a beast of a card and you wont need to upgrade for aaggeess. Of course you may get an upgrade itch though

I think you should wait for the die shrink, and then SLI some brand spanking new nvidia cards that should do well.

And at the time, the 750i ftw was THE option for all the SLI options... 9600 gt sli, 8800 gt sli, 8800 gts sli, 9800gtx sli, 9800gx2 sli, and then the future card's in SLI.

to be fair its not domination. And with nvidias recent price drops in terms of bang/buck it's pretty neck and neck...although for 160ish the 4850 is still pretty insane
