lol.. a typo? You're on a tech forum and have never heard of bits and bytes?

there's 8 bits in a byte right?
1 byte = 8 bits
1 kilobyte (K / Kb) = 2^10 bytes = 1,024 bytes
1 megabyte (M / MB) = 2^20 bytes = 1,048,576 bytes
1 gigabyte (G / GB) = 2^30 bytes = 1,073,741,824 bytes
1 terabyte (T / TB) = 2^40 bytes = 1,099,511,627,776 bytes
1 petabyte (P / PB) = 2^50 bytes = 1,125,899,906,842,624 bytes
1 exabyte (E / EB) = 2^60 bytes = 1,152,921,504,606,846,976 bytes

That's great relevance to a Mebabit not being a typo..

Since your a smart ass, what is a Mebabit?

it is astonoshing that 5mbps down, 2mbps up
my broadband connection is still 1Mbps down and 384Kbps up.

from what i had read in the news, it seems that the service is only offer in US, right?

OOOOH DROOOL!! Man I'm stuck in New Zealand where there is a total monopoly on the lines. I'm stuck at 256k down 128k up, argghhH!!! :(

Is this possible? You need a cable wire thats going to be as thick as a hand for that kind of speed

Holy ****. That would mean surfing the web would be virtually instant, and downloading games on steam would take less than a minute. BTW, could someone make me a cool tag I could use on this forum or tell me how to make one?

I don't think I will ever get it now:p They are trying to install the fiber optics alittle south of me in Tampa Bay and are busting water mains daily:eek: The city has stopped them once and people are getting pissed:p Verizon blames it on the county for giving them faulty pipe locations though;) :)
