Wipe the drive, reinstall Windows ONLY, and download the newest drivers is my routine.

And you are right, Warez, it is usually the user who screws the pooch when it comes to a system slowdown.

Well, that didnt go well. I am never takeing advice off trotter again (Jokes) I overclocked the FSB by 10mhz and it wudnt boot ! the temp went up by 18 Degress C and the AKASA stock fan went up to 5,500RPM

Lol i might clean them up and tweak em, but Overclocking ona normal pc, that doesnt work. I always thought you couldnt OC Dell's anyway .. ?

First thing I did when my mother got a new Dell Laptop was clean all the little programs Dell puts running in the background. Open up msconfig, and get rid of all the crap, open up the task manager see what is running in the background, take it out of the start up. Made the computer run at least 150% faster (im not kidding)

Hmm, its certainly not my fault for this slow A$$ pc. Its got crap all over the place, so much so, that disk Defrag fails.
