So far I've been ripping to Apple lossless, but lately I've been considering switching to FLAC. And basically, since the headphones/speakers/portable player that I have accessible are all crappy, I don't know if i should stick to like basic 192kbps mp3s
and if you player DOES play lossless (which it most likely won't), you'l suck a TON of battery life. higher kbs, the lower the battery life. I think 192kbs is a happy median for mp3 players.
yea, 192kbs isn't that bad of quality....it generally cuts of highs at around 18khz to 19khz...which isn't too big of a deal...especially when you consider that most people that listen to music on their ipods have hearing loss anyways
