Acctualy I would much rather read a book published by a company then read the same book on a computer screen

I used to agree wit you, but now I have my laptop I read most books from foxit reader. its sweet, no page turning, you dont have to hold some great big heavy book, you can adjust the font size and the colours (I find it easiest to read green text from a black background), you don't need bookmarks and you can carry 1000's of books around with you!

So, I'm still wondering...

Since this is a computerized school, does that mean that it's susceptable to virus attacks? If it needs to be reformatted, is everyone going to lose all unsaved changes? Is someone going to have to come in once a month to defragment the students?

If this school is just a computer, its going to end up like every other computer in the world. Its going to be used for porn.

Oh lord... its just another way for Bill Gates to say "HAY L00K @T M3!! I HAVES MONEYS!!1"

im concerned about the lack of a library....you can't just forget about books yet

I agree with that but im glad they are trying something new. High school is just a waste of time. Its a popularity contest, I hated it. Most of what I learned was on the history channel, learning channel and books.

A normal paperback book would also get wet, and be unreadable :p

I read on the couch laying down usually.

Face it: People would rather read stuff that's on a computer screen than printed by some huge printer at a book publishing company.
I don't. Give me book or a paper manual to ready any day over a PDF file.

Not unless you are an Emo looking for a way to kill yourself (or your laptop)

Not entirely new ya know... Our new highschool that is currently being built will be able to hold 1000-1700 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students. Each student will be issued a new laptop with Core 2 Duo processors, wireless networking capabilitys over the 80 acre lot, and the entire senior class will have all digital classes. All books will be online, all classes will be taught in class but have online asignments. There are SEVERAL schools allready trying to get to this level. The only thing holding several schools back is funding, that's why Mercer Co. schools and the city schools have merged, our high school will be costing well over $40 million to build in the next 5 years... Sad I won't be attending it...
