I am a console gamer, because you can get a good system for less than a computer.

But I'm probably going to trash my PS2 and get a 360 when the price is down. The 360 PWNS.


BTW: My current TV isn't HDTV, but it's flat-screen and has component cables. Is it worth it to get a new HDTV, or use my current one without HDTV? I don't know how 360 looks on regular TV's.

Well it will not look nearly as good in my opinion. It would be kind of like playing a PC game on a huge monitor set to a very low resolution. But that doesn't mean I think you should get an HDTV with your 360. If you did that, you would be spending so much money you could get a good gaming PC instead.

One big difference between playing on a TV at 640x480 vs. playing on a computer at 640x480 is that you're not 2 feet away from the screen so it doesn't look nearly as bad. Not to mention console games are optimized at that rez and it looks just fine to me.
