our computers.

setting our computers to hibernate in my opinion is better than turning it off. because it turns back on faster and when the computer is off it is all the way turned off, not like stand by. so now instead of turning off my computer i just hibernate it. are there any downsides to doing this besides the fact that you need 1gb of free disk space to hibernate you computer?

well, when you restart your computer, everything gets reset. Left-overs get cleared out of ram, settings get reset and it just cleans up your computer a bit.

+1 Hibernation is good for laptops, or if you know you're gonna come back to your computer in a little bit, but restarts are ALWAYS good.

I hibernate mine because it takes Windows a [snipped] of a long time to log me in, and it is faster after hibernation. (I use Ubuntu most of the time, and that is nearly instantaneous so it is really annoying in Windows). I reset occasionally to clear it all out.
