More like the DIET COKE of I.T.!

I have seen the sylibus of the Year 12 Computer Studies, and it's SO OUT OF DATE that it not funny.
Eg. Programming in B.A.S.I.C.

I remember doing TAFE INDUSTRIES EXPERIENCE (It's Work Experience, but with attitude) at this high school, and I found it quite comical that you had these year 12 student (at a Private School) stuggling with trying to put BASIC together.

The sylibus between Year 11-12 Computer Studies and First Year TAFE PC & NETWORK SUPPORT are light years apart.

BTW, TAFE is an australian Technical collage. Okay, it's not uni, but it gives you the skills to get you the job.

they don't even teach us any programming. they make us use Frontpage to make websites!!

WOW, 11 years? are you talking college?
ummm... we call it High school here, if that's the same thing

grade prep, 1 and up to 6 are Primary School (starting from about age 5)
years 7 to 12 are in High school

anyone can leave after year 10 (or until they turn 15 I think)
year 11 and 12 are in what's called VCE (or the Victorian Certificate of Education)
you're basically competing against everyone else in VCE; if you get a score of 50, you're better than 50% of the people who went to VCE in your year
if you get a score of 99, you're better than 99% of the people in your year

wow, things are a bit different down under...

it's very close to what we have here.
this is the way it was when i was in school

1-6 is grade school or elementary school
7-9 Jr. High school
10-12 High school (sometimes 9th grade was considered freshmen in highschool)
graduation.

then there is college: you pay for it, and that's what gets you the jobs that pay the bills.

ok, no more work for me...
movie and bed.
TGIF and got to love the WEEKEND
<3 yall,
night
