I don't care that it's not the fastest. it does what I need it to do.

don't know, was unaware of a thorton core to begin with:

Thorton - this core is essentially the same as the Barton core with L2 cache size slashed in half - from 512 Kb to 256 Kb.

mines stable at 2.02ghz. \m/ \m/

i'm sure it can go faster, but i have no RAM timings in my BIOS...so my RAM is overclcoked too. i just heard back from gigabyte and said the new BIOS release should have it fixed. so, hopefully this week i'll be clockin' some more.

RAM timings actually don't do much. they're measured in clock cycles
you have your frequency, which is how many clock cycles it runs at per second.
normally it is 200MHZ or 200,000,000 HZ
that means 1 clock cycle at normal speed takes 1/200,000,000 seconds, or 0.000000005 seconds. not a lot is it. you can blink, and millions of clock cycles can go by in that time.
I would recommend increasing the timings and see if you can push up the HTT
