My mom thinks she knows how to use the computer, but she has to call me whenever she has to use an install cd. My dad doesn't want to learn how to use the computer because then he can't get blamed for when something goes wrong with it.

Not true, my dad knows as much if not more than me about computers and so does his friends. Also for the email just use Thunderbird.

my mom had no idea last night where to type in the url. Then when she figured it out, getting her to type in mail.yahoo.com, was a challenge in itself. The entire experience from last night still boggles my mind on how some one can know so little.
