What computers do you use at school or work?

My school has different comps.

P3's (from about 600MHz to 800Mhz)
98, Win2kPro or XPPro
(BSoD's all the time!)

and

P4's 2.4GHz
Win2kPro
(Run fine!)

The monitors really suck.
Most CRT's are 14 or 15 inch running at 800x600@?Hz, sometimes 1024x768@60Hz

All HD's suck and are really noisy+slow.

They use Novell networks and Norman Antivir.

my school has diff ones also. The pc labs have 2.4gfx P4 with 512 ram, dells. with 17" monitors.
The library has like 800 mgz pcs.

Pentium 166MHz to Pentum 4 2.8GHz with just about everything in between

RAM from 16MB to 512MB

1 Windows 95
1 98
the rest XP Pro (Work for an NPO so most software including some Microsoft is cheap or free)

My work station is:
Pentium 4 2.8GHz
512MB RAM
nVidia GeForce FX 5200

I know ours are really cheap and lame pieces of junk, but I need to check the specs. We have like two different types: Compaq and MA Technologies.

aaand with all this power, the comp sci 1 students use a dos based compiler...cant wait for comp sci 2!

I have no idea, but they are still running old OS/2 Warp.

Man, I feel our school is soooo "primitive" when it comes to comps. Perhaps the reason is that it was built some 30 yrs. ago, and we are just now realizing that we NEED TO get better comps.
