People were supposed to think "beat him off" as in "get him off your back" and then I would proceed to make fun of the people who chose that option.

I would run backward as fast as possible till I slammed into a wall knocking the breath out of him. Then turn to see who it was. If I didn't consider the person a friend, stomp his marbles repeatedly. If it was a buddy pranking me, I'd still give him a shot in the stones, just not as hard.
