^well it's not really free if you have to buy something else to get it tho is it lol. I use gmail and hotmail.

So do I, in addition to my: student school e-mail, faculty school e-mail (I work for the college I attend so I also have a staff e-mail), and my own domain email. lol

Is it possible to create your own email server at home and have a free domain? Or do you still need to buy a domain even for that? Not sure how that works honestly.

You'd have to register your domain. If you can find a free way of doing that, then I guess the answer is yes
