I really have a good solution to this problem. Get a desk that isn't crazy lol. I haven't posted a pic of my Desk in a long time, i will post one in a few.

I would get a piece of lumber and put it across the bars in the middle area for your monitor so it will not be so close. I would also have the mouse on the top part instead of the KB tray.

and secure it with duct tape

It doesn't need to be perfect. Measure the area and make the horizontal part of the wood (long ways going across the bars) have a little overlap. If you wanna get real redneck you can use a drill and make 2 holes on either side of the pipe through the wood and use zip ties to secure it.

My area is a complete mess right now since I have like no time to clean.
